Get help using Otto, the 8x8 virtual assistant.

Procedure

Hi, I'm Otto, your Virtual Assistant at 8x8. I am available to users on any page of the 8x8 Support Knowledge Base (this website), the 8x8 Community, the My 8x8 Support Portal, and Admin Console.
  1. Click the chat icon at the bottom right corner of any of the pages listed above to begin our engagement. 


    Once open, I will immediately ask you to agree to the terms of service. 
  2. After you agree to the TOS, I'll let you know if any performance issues are occurring with 8x8 services. If something could impact our customers' experience, a big yellow triangle with a link to our status page will appear for you to review.  
  3. Simply type your inquiry below to interact with me.
 
For best results:
  • Enter one inquiry at a time.
  • If trying to resolve an error message, provide the specific error message you're getting
  • Be specific but brief. "How to Update Payment Information" or "Edit User Permissions". 
  • If your inquiry is too vague, you'll be asked a clarifying question, such as "Where are you looking to access your voicemail from? 8x8 Work, Admin Console, a deskphone, or an outside line?" Knowing the specific details will ensure you're given an accurate response.
If you or I decide human support is needed, you may be asked to authenticate before being routed to an agent.
Once your chat with the agent is complete, you may end it and return to the main chatbot window. Here, you will be presented with the case number created for you so you can follow up with the agent through the case.
